Billericay Town were held to a 0-0 draw at Bowers & Pitsea in a disappointing result for the Blues at the Len Salmon Stadium.

Dan Brown’s side were a threat on the attack from the start and with seven minutes played, Alfie Cerulli’s shot went straight into the hands of Melvin Minter. Recent addition Javaun Splatt nearly got his first goal in Blue when he went on a run past a number of Bowers players but the Bowers goalkeeper was there again to keep the score level.
The second half began as the first half had ended with Billericay on the front foot and looking like the more likely team to open the scoring. Splatt had another chance to score just after the hour-mark when Minter made a mistake which fell to the 21-year-old but he couldn’t convert his shot.
The Blues continued to attack but they were unable to find that clinical finishing touch. Marvel Ekpiteta had a chance to score a last-gasp winner in the closing stages, however, his shot narrowly went wide which meant Billericay only went home with a point, despite an encouraging display.
